How to find your motivation


When working from home it is really easy to get discouraged and doubtful about your doings. And that leads to loosing your motivation and that is what can make you to quit. To be successful you need to stay motivated and here are few great tips how to find your motivation and how to stay motivated.

Don’t over do it

If you are working to accomplish all goals at once. STOP. It is the biggest way to not only lose your motivation but you know that it will drain you of energy and you will end up in really bad flare and that is last thing you want. And I know this because I have done it time and time again. In fact, I just did it last week and that is wort enemy to motivation. I lost mine but I was happy to find it fast again. So one goal at the time and remember baby steps no leaps of giant.

Excitement and delayed gratification

So you have your goal and you are pumped up and want to get going to accomplish that goal. Do your self a favor and don’t. Build up your excitement and set up a date to start let’s say after 3 days. Spent that time to make your plans perfect and that will feed your excitement even more. And then when your start date is here you are more than ready to get going and you will stay motivated the hole time. After you reached your goal set up your next goal and set the date again and you are on the right path to being successful. When you set your goal, remember to have plans on how to reward yourself. Great way to rewarding yourself could be a weekend getaway and to have that planned not right after you hit your goal but little after gives you another motivational boost because it is a delayed gratification of something you worked hard to get and waited and now you have the right mindset to fully enjoy the fruit of your labor.

Share your goals

When you are setting your next goal, share it in your social media or your blog or both. That is a great motivator. Because everyone now knows your goals and you don’t want them to see you fail and even more they are there to boost your motivation. Not easy to do, because we fear failure and others laughing to us but think how much it boosts your spirit is against what some of your “so called” friends said you made your goal and they are left to wonder how you did it. That feeling will not only motivate but it is what gives you joy and happiness to be able to say “I told you so”.

Take a break

What a perfect reason to take a break. To find your motivation, to be inspired and to charge your batteries. I took one last weekend and I am happy that I did. We went to Clarion Hotel Helsinki. To get most out of our one night stay we opted to have a superior room with a sea view.






Review of Clarion hotel Helsinki
Hotel is new it was opened in October 2016 and it is located right by the sea in Jätkäsaari area of Helsinki capital of Finland. You can see the city center. Hotel is clean and very much Scandinavian. There is a restaurant, Sky Room cocktail restaurant and a bar all under one roof. There is also a spa area with saunas and pool. Rooms are either standard, superior, deluxe or Junior suite and two Master suites. If you don*t want the sea view there is little difference in standard and superior but deluxe and Junior suite are bigger and also have some better view of sea and Helsinki.

Restaurant has some great vines and food is Scandinavian and fine. We ordered room service and the food was good, but the little things good be done better. Like we were delivered wrong food first and when we were there for the first time the restaurant staff didn’t really know their own menu and that is something that they might look into.

Price level is normal for Finland one night was 158€ and the roomservice 30€ . Parking if you are useing a rental car or your own is a must and that was 15€.

To find your motivation there is one place that can do it in minutes. YouTube. Go and search for your favorite music, your dream destination to travel or video review of your dream house. YouTube has it all. You can watch those videos and dream and then set your goals and you are back on track. Easy and effective way to find your motivation.

Selfcare it doesn’t have to be expensive


You might feel better because you are happier, you are more active or what ever the reason, but you’ll probably still have some bad days. Focusing having a selfcare day may help you deal with those days. Here are 5 tips for selfcare and they are free.

Hot shower

Warm water helps reduce muscle tension and lessen pain, and taking a shower and not soak in a bath can have some extra benefits. If at all possible to be sitting down and letting the hit water gently massage your body will be a time to have just happy thoughts. And after the shower you will feel fresh and hot shower just before bedtime might even help you to fall a sleep faster.

Music of your past

Search Youtube to find music that you used to listen when you were 18 or so. If you are 18 now find some music from your childhood. Turn the volume up and let the music take control. Just feel the music and forget everything else. Spent 20 minutes in the music wonderland and you will have a little bit less pain and much better mood.

Alternate nostril breathing

Starting in a comfortable spot and sit or what ever is comfortable. Hold the right thumb over the right nostril and inhale deeply through the left nostril. At the peak of inhalation, close off the left nostril with the ring finger, then exhale through the right nostril. Repeat for about 5 minutes. But do not do this in the late evening because it can have a coffee like effect on you.

Go outside and watch

No matter where you live there is always a place that you can be outside. City park, rooftop, balcony, beach, backyard. Just go outside. Stand if you can and if not sit down and do nothing. Just watch as life goes on. If it is summer there might be a fly or in the winter you might feel the cold. 5 minutes is all it takes but that 5 minutes will have you 5 minutes free of everything


No I don’t mean sleep but dream. Better yet dream big. Even the most successful people had dreams and that is what has made them what they are today. Dreaming is essential for a human being. Without dreams, you will lose interest in life and finally hate to live life. Only with dreams, will you find a purpose to live your life. Having a dream is a great motivator and to have a dreams means you have a goal in life and that goal is what you will be working for.  And that you have a goal is the best selfcare in the world.



Breakfast recipes


In this post there will be 3 different breakfast recipes and they will really help fight fatigue if you make them either the night before or once a week on Sundays.

Eggs a great source of protein


Olive oil

1/2 large onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup of mushrooms of your choice, chopped

1/2 cup of chopped fresh herbs of your choice

6 large eggs

2 tbsp milk

Make it:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a dish to bake fritata. Warm oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add onion, sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper and cook, until softened, 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook and stirring until the mushrooms release their liquid, add bell peppers and add some salt and pepper. Cook about 2 minutes. Put vegetable mixture to the greased baking dish. Top with fresh herbs.

Whisk eggs and milk in a bowl until well combined. Season lightly. Add egg mixture to the dish covering the vegetable mixture.

Bake in the oven until fritata is set and little puffed, about 20 minutes.

Let it cook completely and cut to servings and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate

Greek yogurt with blueberries and acai powder

2 cups of plain Greek yogurt

2 cups of fresh blueberries

1 tbsp acai powder

Make it:

Mix yogurt with acai powder and divide into 2 containers with lid. Add 1 cup of blueberries to each. Close the lid and refrigerate.


Homemade granola with cottage cheese and raspberries

Make your own granola

5 cups oats

1 cup of raw almonds chopped

1 cup of coconut

1 cup of roasted and salted peanuts

1 cup of roasted and salted sunflower seeds

1/2 of butter

1 cup of honey

Spread the dry ingredients to a baking sheet and melt butter and honey in the microwave oven and mix well. Then pour the mixture over the dry ingredients and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Remember to stir after 15 minutes. After baking let it cool completely. Store in a sealed container.

1 serving:

1 cup of cottage cheese

1/2 cup of raspberries

1/2 cup of granola

Mix in a bowl and eat.

Fighting fatigue naturally


This headline can make you mad. I know very well that there is no cure for the fatigue that is part of fibromyalgia or CFS. What I want to share with you are tips and tools that help me to be able to do some things that for months I thought were only part of my life in the past. There might be ways to fight fatigue with medication but these are my ways of fighting fatigue naturally.

Minimal choices

When waking up in the morning is a huge task there is no reason what so ever to make things any harder by having multiple outfits to choose from. Or when you are hardly able to walk because of both pain and fatigue do the list before going to the store to do your grocery shopping. The fewer options you have then less energy is spent to make decisions. Having a minimalist lifestyle is a great way fore saving your physical energy while being ecological at the same time.

High protein breakfast, lunch to stay healthy and dinner to be happy

The point to have more energy means that you will not use what little you have in the morning to make breakfast. What would be the point. Make breakfast and go to rest before even eating it. So this will take some planning, prepping and time and use some of that energy from Sunday which is a perfect day to prepare both breakfasts and lunches for the next week. And if you are really hoping to be super productive and you have resources you could spend 1 Sunday per month in the kitchen and make freezer meals to use as a breakfast and lunch and to be able to take it easier during dinner times also dinners can be freezer meals. I will have 3 posts about there foods. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Stay hydrated

I have said this before and will say it again. You must drink water and also eat things that help to hydrate you. When you are working from home having snacks between breakfast and lunch is often ignored. But to make things easy for you and also keep you sweet tooth in control when working take some watermelon balls and frozen grapes and pamper yourself with them. And remember you can have some green tea to boost your day to a hole new level.

It is important to sleep as well as possible. It helps but like we all know it is hard and often impossible. But almost as important as a good night sleep is to take naps and have enough time to rest. And those rest times can be what ever you need to get new boost of energy. It can be a 20 minutes break with your favorite music, it can be a walk in the park or it can be an indulging a hot/cold shower in the middle of the day. Those rest periods are not only for your body but to your soul as well. When your mind is rested and happy you will be more energetic even if your physical side makes you lay in bed. But hey you are working from home, there is simply no rules that say you must sit by the desk to be able to work. Lay down. In your bed, take your phone or tablet or laptop and work.

Learn to forgive yourself

You did something in the past that is still bothering you. You had that fight with your sister. Spent too much money while on holiday the list goes on and on. But those things are in the past. Make a list

Be proud about the things you do. Write down all the things that you did yesterday. And be proud. If it only says that you woke up and had lunch and a shower. That is great. Anything extra and you are a winner. There is no need to be a superwoman all you really need to be is the best version of you that you can be and that is enough. If you want something in life bad enough what your mind does is that it makes your body to function just enough for you to get what you want. Don’t fight this, just let thing go the way they are meant to be but when you are having a better day, or better yet a better week use that time to work to make your next goal a reality.



Selfcare to better your week


To be able to sleep without too much pain. To be able work without pain or feeling extreme fatigue. That is what everyone wants but it is not always the case. But there is something to make those hard days and weeks easier. Selfcare. It can help you have more productive week. To have all the benefits possible have a selfcare Sunday.

Start with your feet

Scrub your feet clean. If at all possible don’t use towel to dry your feel but let them air dry. After that rub a generous amount of Bliss foot patrol softening cream into the aching and rough areas. And then to help the cream do it’s magic put some soft and warm socks on for about an hour.

And then when you are about to go to bed in the evening rub some essential oils to calm your feet. I find that oil blends that have Eucalyptus are most effective. If your knees are sore, there are few things that might help. Add generous amount of Cooling gel to your knees and put on your pj pants and the cooling effect helps with the pain.

Water will help

After your feet are taken care of it is time to let the water to heal you further. Take a long and hot shower and use shower gel with your favorite scent. I love to use different scents different times. Blueberry shower gel when I need to relax and be calm and Green apple shower gel to have extra boost to my week. To wash my hair there is nothing more pampering than Shampoo with lemon scent.

And to take full advantage of water when there is time after busy Sunday it is great to have a hot bath with your favorite bath products.

Plan your week

One of the best things to be productive but also to have your mind relaxed about coming week is to take time and do some planning. Take out your planner, decorate with washi tape, stickers and what ever makes you feel good. When planning your week, make sure to include plenty of rest times. You know this already but spoonies need to rest no matter how much you want to work and ignore the aches and pains. Planning also makes life less stressful and that is why you should learn the habit of planning.  Planning also helps to get those creative juices flowing.

End your Sunday with soft music.

Perfect way to end a perfect selfcare day is to put on your headphones and listen some soft  music. Kenny G and Richard Clayderman  and their hole production are my recommendation to  a perfect day. Let all your pent up emotions run wild and start a week with a burst of feelings that have been hidden for a long long time.





It Works! Does it work


This post could be a really short one with the word yes. But I want to say a bit more. So ItWorks! Does it work.

So what is ItWorks!

It Works! Is a MLM multi level marketing business. You can find reviews about ItWorks! saying that it is a scam, that you can get some products cheaper that the products are not working …

But here are the facts.

Yes it is a business that sells products that might work for you and might not work for me. You won’t lose weight with just the Ultimate body applicator but you might lose inches. You will not get rich overnight by joining as a distributor but with hard work and dedication you can make a full income.

When you read those negative reviews online what you will find out is that those making the reviews are not part of the business and only tell what they can find out thru internet and thru those people who might have been part of itWorks! but didn’t become millionaires in a week and didn’t lose 20 pounds with the wrap. But nobody ever said that they would do so either.

So it is a scam!

No. ItWorks! is not a scam. But it is not easy money. Here is how it works. Somebody tells you about ItWorks! and you can order some products and save some money by becoming a loyal customer or you can join ItWorks! and start your own business by becoming a distributor. You will pay a fee and you will get your own website and a business building kit to help you get started. But that is where the work really starts.

As a distributor, you will want to have your own team. People need to hear you tell them about the products about the business and about why you joined what is good and what is not so good. You want your own loyal customers and your own distributors. You will be given support by others in the business, by the company and thru training. But it is your job to follow the steps that have proven to be successful. You will need to be active. Share in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Send e-mails, text messages, snapchat. You will need to talk to people at work or at gym. You wiĺl be your own ad and that is your job. To tell and to get people to join and buy.

Too many are distributors already.

Yes there are many distributors but not too many. ItWorks! is international business and there are countries that are not very active and there are always people that you know that have not heard about the business at all. So you are not too late you are here at the perfect time.

I don’t have any fat friends.

Great but that crazy wrap thing is just one of the products they have. There is a lot to choose from. It really does not matter what it is that you or your customers or your distributors or their customers order. It is sad actually that you only hear about one product when there is so much to choose from.

Not enough friends

You have a Facebook, how many friends do you have there. Instagram, Twitter. How about your children’s hobbies. You see and talk to people all the time. Write a list of all those people you talked to last week. If that list is longer that yourself thru mirror, you have enough people in your life to be a star in this business. It will be work but you can do it.

So …

ItWorks! Is a business. And like any other it means you will have to work to make it work. Your customers and distributors need to trust you. The products are there and once people use them they will love them. It is your job to give them enough info to make them want to try the products. To be able to do that you need to use the products yourself.

Talk to people, share your experience, be your own ad. It is some with any business really. If you talk to 100 maybe 1 will listen and want to give ItWorks a try. That is fine. But if that one trying falls in love with the products you will have a change of getting new customers. So you have nothing to lose.

Consistency a key to success


You have a dream. I really hope that you have your goals. You are making plans. You might be scared and you fear failure. Don’t be afraid to fail. It is a good thing. You just follow your passion. There are many keys to being successful but the one I want to write today is consistency a key to success.

What does is really mean to be consistent

Short version is for example that you are always 5 minutes early to an appointment. The quality of achieving a level of performance which does not vary greatly in quality over time. So what does it really mean. It means that once you have your goal set up. You will follow your plan to reach your goal. And you do it over and over again.

But my plan is not working

Once you have your goals ready. You make a plan. You follow your plan and it fails! It is not the end of the world. If someone says to you that their plans have never failed, they lie. All you need to do it to look at what went wrong, why did the plan fail, make a new plan that is better than the first one and start again. And once you have a working plan that helps you reach your goal you know that your plan works and after that you will have to be consistent to follow your plan.

Everything starts with a dream

To be able to have goals you must have dreams. My dream is ___________________. What ever your dream might be if it is possible in the first place you can make it reality. Yes I have dreams that I know that will always be just dreams because there is nothing I can do to make them real. Like having no more chronic illnesses, but I also have dreams that will turn into reality if I set up my goals, make plans and consistently follow my plans.

To be successful means that you need to have goals. One mistake we often make is that we have that major goal but nothing small on the way. This type of goal setting can lead to giving up. That is why it is best to have at least weekly goals and monthly goals and then yearly goals and that huge goal somewhere in the distant future. Some even have daily goals. If you
feel that your goals are not big enough or that you will more than likely fail to reach them you can adjust them. But the fear of failure is not an option is you want to be successful.

Monthly goal earns a reward

There really is no need to be too hard for yourself. Set your monthly goals
so that they are very realistic if not little under what you think will be realistic. That way you won’t feel discourage or depressed if you don’t reach your goals. And like a child you earn a reward. My number on tip for rewarding yourself is to have a self care afternoon. There will be a separate post about self care tips that you can use as a reward. I love to lay in bed without doing anything productive just watching TV or YouTube what a perfect treat and it is also good for my pains and it could be good for you too.

Thursday: Post a blog post and 3 posts to Instagram. After the blog post share it in Facebook, Twitter; Instagram and Pinterest. Daily Goal: To get 5 new followers to Instagram and Pinterest

Friday: Post a blog post and 3 posts to Instagram. After the blog post share it in Facebook, Twitter; Instagram and Pinterest. Daily Goal: To get 5 new followers to Instagram and Pinterest

Saturday: Shoot a YouTube video, edit it and upload it to YouTube. Daily Goal: Have fun doing the video

Saturday: No working

Weekly Goal: To get 30 new followers to all my social media platforms

So your week could look something like this. In my planner I have a more detailed plan and I update that every week. But as a spoonie I know and you know this too it is critical to rest. That is why there are those no working days in my plan and I hold on to them. There is no point to get sick or to have a flare only because you want to make your dream come true. If you are not able to enjoy them you worked for nothing and that is something that I will never want to do and neither should you.


Foods that fight pain and imflammation


Here are the recipes that I promised to share.

Kale Caesar Salad with grilled chicken


  • 4 ounces grilled chicken, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups kale, cut
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Garlic as much as you like (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • Dash of fresh lemon juice
  • Dash Olive oil
  • Pink Himalayan salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. 1. In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, mustard, honey, lemon juice and olive oil. Whisk until you have formed a dressing. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Add the kale, chicken and cherry tomatoes and toss to coat with the dressing and shredded Parmesan.
  3. 3. Eat immediately

Quinoa Salad with Salmon


  • 1 good size salmon fillet
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked quinoa
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 European cucumber sliced
  • Small red onion dice


  1. Sprinkle salmon evenly with salt, freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder. Place salmon on a foil lined baking sheet and broil for about 10 minutes.
  2. When salmon is done, flake fillet with a fork into small chunks.
  3. Combine salmon, cooked quinoa, halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber and onion, . Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Add the olive oil.
  4. Serve warm.

Garlic soup


4 bulbs garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
6 tablespoons  butter
4 leeks, chopped
1 onion, chopped
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper


Cut off top 1/4 inch of each garlic head. Place in a small, shallow baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until golden, about 1 hour. Cool slightly. Press individual garlic cloves between thumb and finger to release. Chop garlic.
Melt butter large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic, leeks, and onion; saute until onion is translucent, about 8 minutes. Add flour and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the broth. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly.
Puree soup in a blender or food processor.
Return soup to saucepan, and add cream. Simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Add lemon juice to taste. Season with salt and white pepper.

Working with chronic pain


Chronic pain is very common and it is estimated that there are more than 1.5 billion people suffering chronic pain yearly worldwide. So it really is a common thing. Some get help, some don’t. Level of pain is different to everyone and cause of pain can be known or unknown. So there is 1.5 billion stories to tell. In this post I will share tips about working with chronic pain.

Listen to your body

There are days when you feel quite alright and pain is low and you can hardly tell that it is there. And than there are days when all you want to do is scream because the pain is so bad that you feel like you will die. When working it is important to know what your body is telling you and when your pain levels reach the sky you simply need to stop.

Work in intervals

This is something that healthy people don’t understand. You have a headache because your neck and shoulders. Work for 20 minutes and ignore the pain and than take a 2-minute break. Massage your neck and shoulders and try to get some blood flow happening. It won’t take the pain away but it will help so that you can work for the next 20 minutes.

Forget what you look like

When you are at home and you want to be comfortable you wear your pj’s or something similar. At work, you try being like everyone else and wear clothes that make you feel even worse. Stop that. If your workplace says you have to wear a uniform that can be hard to do but choose your underwear so that it is comfortable forget the fashion. And it you can wear your own clothes but must be business casual than for ladies choose a dress that is loose and that has a soft fabric and for men if you wear a suit make sure that it is comfortable and that all the fabrics are soft to your skin because it helps to tolerate the pain when you have comfort with your clothes. And forget make up and perfume and such if it doesn’t make you feel better.

Stay hydrated

Drink drink. It is vital that you stay hydrated. If you work in an office just drinking might not be enough. I know that this is not very practical but it helps. Get yourself a small spray bottle and fill it water and pump one spray to your face after every hour.

And all you frugal minimalist out there. You can do this at home in the morning. Take with you a water bottle and an iced green tea bottle and drink not just water but that green tea as well. Why? Because it helps. This amazing beverage has anti-cancer properties, it can lower the levels of bad cholesterol, it can prevent cardiovascular disease and it can also fight infections’. Moreover, green tea has mild anti-inflammatory affects as well and it can help those who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. The secret? The high amounts of catching polyphenols, which make green tea such a powerful antioxidant. Less infections’ means less pain

Eat whatever makes you feel better.

If you suffer from severe chronic pain it affects your mind. And to make you feel better you must eat. And by eating healthy but also tasty food can boost your mind and that boosts your body and you are able to work better even with your pain. I hope you find your favorites in these foods

My last tip is to stop climbing the corporate ladder and start your own business from home that you can set your own working hours and get to stay home and take a break and heal when ever you want. And make your dreams a reality one by one.


The hidden past


I know that it is not known what causes fibromyalgia or some other chronic illness like CFS. There are some reasons that are known to be a cause but there is a reason that is kept silent. It is understandable that it is so but I think that it is time to tell what might be the reason. Or one of the reasons.

My story

This is not a nice story and can upset someone so if you’re sensitive stop reading this post.

When I was a child, I was surrounded by alcoholism and with that came fear, sorrow, and anxiety. At the age of 12 I was sexually abused and people were blaming me. I was doing great at school and also tried to be extra nice to everyone. I was working hard to please others. I was obeying others and not take care of myself.

I lost my father when I was 18 and at that point I was forced to learn a habit of lies and not talking about any problems that I had.

Around that time I had first issues with my worsening health. But I kept going on without even slowing down.

Between age 19 and 24 I was raped once and someone close to me tried to kill me.

All this was making me have more and more symptoms of fibromyalgia, but I was not willing to admit that I was ill.

I found that I loved working with computers when I was 23 and kept working 18 hours a day 7 days/ week for 3 years. After 3 years, my health was gone. I had found someone that was and still is my best friend and I fell in love and we had a baby.

My life was finally OK but my health will never be fine again. All that hidden past made me have both fibromyalgia and CFS better known as chronic fatigue syndrome. I can and will live with my illnesses but what if I had had a different childhood would I be writing a different story. I think so.

This is quite common

I am not the only one with this type of journey to get fibromyalgia or some other chronic illness. We are known to be extra helpful and diligent and if you dig deep enough there is something bad that has happened in the past. So why am I writing about this. How is this going to help anyone to make dreams a reality. By giving, you hope.

You are stronger than you think

You have a chronic illness but you can do thing. You might not be able to run a marathon or even around the house but you can think. Ability to do that is all you need to dream and to work on making them true.
